Heat Guard Mario Chalmers On His Way Out Of Miami, Headed To Memphis

Mario Chalmers has spent his last days in South Beach.

Reports are that the Miami Heat are finalizing a trade that will send guard Mario Chalmers to the Memphis Grizzles.

“It goes how it goes,” Chalmers said when asked about the rumors, according to Ethan Skolnick of the Miami Herald. “It’s the nature of the business.”

Memphis is off to a disappointing start to the season and believe that Chalmers will bring a Championship pedigree to the team. Mike Chiari of Bleacher Report writes that Chalmers can bring depth to the teams backcourt.

Memphis is strong at point guard with Mike Conley, but the depth behind him is suspect. The team’s shooting guard situation is questionable as well with Courtney Lee and Tony Allen splitting time.

Chalmers would likely be a big part of the backcourt rotation in Memphis, and he would bring a championship pedigree to the table with two titles under his belt.

Chalmers is set to become a free-agent at the end of the season.
