For the rest of the NBA season, at least until the playoffs begin, Kobe Bryant‘s final season as a pro baller will likely dominate basketball headlines one way or the other. Here’s one of those “other” ways.
The Lakers haven’t played too well this season, but they had a strong showing on the road in Washington last night, beating a likely Eastern Conference playoff team 104-104. As Kobe chatted up some of the Wizards players that wanted to pay their respects to the Laker great in his final game in Washington, an overzealous fan chose to run onto the court and disturb Kobe and Marcin Gortat‘s embrace. Kobe was unfazed, but after the game, he had a clever response to the incident.
Kobe on intensely appreciative fan reaction so far on the road: “I thought everybody hated me.”
