The NFL had begun expanding outside of the United States a few years ago, playing at least one regular season game in London every year. The reception from the British audience has always been exceptional and with that, the league is in discussions to have a game played in Mexico City during the upcoming season. This wouldn’t be the first time for the move, as the NFL previously pitted the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers in the city back in 2005. The game was held at Estadio Azteca with a crowd of 103,467.
The teams in the discussion for the game are the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders. The NFL is looking to expand their fanbase with the move, and for the Texans, this would be ideal because the franchise often caters to their Mexican fans in the area.
