‘Daft Punk Unchained’ Is Set To Finally Grace Our Screens

Earlier this week it was revealed the documentary on French dance legends Daft Punk entitled Daft Punk Unchained will get its official small screen release on BBC4 on February 19.

The much-heralded documentary was first screened for free in East London last September at Oval Space, where tickets sold out like hot cakes.

The much maligned robotic duo were the figureheads of the notorious dance scene worldwide during the late 90s and throughout the new millennium, however their roots growing up in France before they famously donned the masks has always been of great interest to their millions of fans over the years.

The feature will portray the pair experiencing their ecstatic, colourful highlights, from the landmark albums of Homework (1997) and Discovery (2001) to performing the now historic gig at Coachella in 2006 as well as all the in-betweens that catapulted their stardom into a universe even they weren’t familiar with.

The robots pinnacle of achievement is undoubtedly their 2014 Grammy winning album Random Access Memories, which went on to become a platinum selling juggernaut that completely overthrew everything and everyone in the music world.

The documentary is directed by acclaimed French film director Hervé Martin Delpierre and features exclusive interviews with none other than Pharrell Williams, Giorgio Moroder, Skrillex, Nile Rodgers, Michel Gondry, Pete Tong and many more along with never before seen archive footage.

It is set to be aired at 10PM Friday 19 February on BBC4.
