Pretty Much No One Showed Up to the Anti-Beyonce Protests in NYC Today

Well, three or four people did show up, but if a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it…

Today was supposed to be the day Super Bowl truthers, a.k.a. anti-Beyonce protesters, lit up the sidewalks outside New York City’s NFL headquarters and let the world know that it is not okay for Mrs. Carter to be prancing around on one of the world’s biggest stages, flanked by Black Panther dancers, singing about stashing hot sauce in her purse. That is not cool, and America, the media, social media, everyone needed to be made aware of her anti-police narrative.

Well, the NFL will have to wait for its chastising, considering three people meagerly holding up signs on Park Ave while commuters drown out their chants is hardly anyone’s idea of a successful protest. The Cut was on the dreary scene this morning talking with the handful of people that showed up to get an idea of what type of person spends their business day campaigning against Beyonce in the rain. One was a Ted Cruz supporter who thought it was inappropriate that Beyonce was calling for violence against police, and the other was a female Seahawks fan who showed up in a “POLICE” hat, claiming she was present due to the fact that she has a lot of “cop friends.”

The pathetic excuse for a protest eventually turned into a pro-Beyonce affair, and slowly but surely both men and women showed up in support of the “Formation” singer, holding up signs like “Pro Black is not Anti White” and “Why Are People Afraid of Black Pride?” No word yet on if Roger Goodell peeked out of his window to see all the commotion, but chances are he didn’t.
