Earlier this month, Yoenis Cespedes signed a 3-year deal with the New York Mets, after many analysts and baseball insiders believed the slugging center fielder was destined to sign a 5 or 6-year deal elsewhere for triple-digit money. However, after rejuvenating the team’s offense following his being traded to New York at last summer’s trading deadline, Cespedes helped lead the Mets to their first World Series in 15 years, and he’s returned for less money than he was worth on the free agent market to try to win his first World Series.
Still, $75 million over a relatively brief 3-year span is nothing to downplay, and Cespedes’ wheels reflect that notion. Since he reported to the Mets’ spring training in Port St. Lucie in Florida earlier this week, Cespedes has put on a car show every time he pulls into the parking lot, and today he’s already showed off another whip.
On Tuesday, it was this…bat-mobile?

Wednesday brought us the slightly more modest, still ridiculous Lamborghini (Mets’ beat writer Anthony DiComo said you could hear Cespedes before you could see him).

And this morning, Cespedes showed up bright and early to work in this gorgeous ol’ thing.

Apparently, tomorrow will be the grand finale: a Jeep.
Jeep tomorrow for Yoenis Cespedes. That will round out his collection.
