Houston Rockets Rookie Montrezl Harrel Shoves NBA D-League Referee To Ground

Conflicts aren’t uncommon in the sports realm, but they are normally defused rather quickly. One of the things that is an absolute no-no is putting your hands on an official, which is exactly what Houston Rockets rookie Montrezl Harrell did while playing in an NBA D-League game with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Saturday, Harrell got into a scuffle with a member of the Bakersfield Jam and when referee Jason Goldenberg attempted to separate the two, Harrell shoved him to the ground.

After the incident, the National Basketball Referees Association released a statement, demanding that action be taken and Harrell be punished to the fullest extent. There is also the possibility that Goldenberg may take legal action or press charges if he chooses to do so down the line. Watch the clip below.
