N.W.A will reunite at the ceremony but they won’t be performing, according to founding member Ice Cube.

In an interview with the New York Times yesterday, Cube said he expects the remaining members of the group to show up on the night: Dr. Dre, M.C. Ren and D.J. Yella (Eazy-E tragically died in 1995).

“I believe everybody’s going to be there. As it stands now,” Cube says. “We’re not performing. I guess we really didn’t feel like we were supported enough to do the best show we could put on. We wanted to do it on a whole other level, and that just couldn’t happen.”

He goes on, “But we’re totally honored, humbled and appreciative to the Hall for even just considering us, inducting us and inviting us.”

Having been nominated three times before and coming off the success of the blockbuster film Straight Outta Compton, N.W.A.’s accolade is long overdue. They’re only the fifth Hip Hop act voted to the Hall after Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run-DMC, The Beastie Boys and Public Enemy.
