Earlier this week, Iggy Azalea took to Twitter to engage with fellow users and explain why she wasn’t a fan of the term “Becky.” In Azalea’s opinion, the word is used as a “generalized name that gained popularity as a way to describe oral sex and then generally white women.” She would also compare its use to Asian women being called “Ming Lee” or Black women being called “Sha Nay Nay.” All in all, Iggy Azalea is strongly opposed to the term “Becky,” and very explicitly stated to one Twitter user that she would not like to be called that.
