Last week, Birdman and Cash Money began selling merchandise, including hoodies and t-shirts, with Birdman’s infamous Breakfast Club warning–“Put some respek on my name”–emblazoned across the front, just another example of Baby exploiting an opportunity, which is just how Cash Money Records got to be Cash Money Records.
Apparently, Baby is taking the viral results of his botched press run a step further, and will be releasing a single and music video titled…you guessed it…”Respek.” On Sunday afternoon, Soulja Boy, a longtime affiliate of Birdman’s, unleashed a 60-second snippet of the song, which naturally includes the line “Put some respect when you mention my name.” Birdman, on his own Instagram, revealed that he would be heading home to New Orleans to shoot the music video for the song, so we can expect to see that in the near future as well.
In related news, Birdman sat for an interview with Hot 97’s Ebro In the Morning show this morning, but footage or audio has yet to be released. We’ll update you once it surfaces.
