50 Cent, one of the most notorious Instagram and Twitter users in Hip Hop, has come under fire today after he took a video of a mentally disabled airport worker, and accused him of being “high” and using drugs.
In the video clip in question–which you can watch here, though 50 has already taken it off social media–50 approaches Andrew Farrell, a graduate of Conner High School, and declares that the “new generation is crazy.” He then begins to poke fun at Farrell, who is pushing a janitorial cart through the airport. Farrell, who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, social anxiety and has a hearing deficiency, appeared to be oblivious to Fif’s antics during the video, but later revealed to Fox 19 that he was thinking “Why is he doing this?” to himself, and now considers the Queens rapper to be a “jerk.”
Concerning 50 Cent and his video, Farrell’s mother, Amanda, had this to say, “I want him to apologize to him more than anything and say that he was wrong. He should not have made those snap judgments. I’m tempted to contact a lawyer, but I don’t have the resources to do that. Sometimes it’s hard to fight a celebrity.”
In 2012, 50 Cent apologized for replying to an overeager fan’s tweet–“Release the album or get shot again”–with “Yeah just saw your picture fool you look autistic,” and continuing with, “I don’t want no special ed kids on my time line follow some body else.”
50 has yet to comment on these recent developments.
