Justin Timberlake was quietly prepping a brand new album, his 5th, prior to the end of last week. Since Friday, however, information has been spilled into the open forums, and the world now knows that it will soon have another JT album, his first since his two album effort in 2013.
In an interview with Carson Daly last week, Timberlake confirmed that he is indeed working on a new album, which many suspected following the release of “Can’t Stop The Feeling,” the single Timberlake worked on for the upcoming Dreamworks animated film, Trolls. In recent weeks, Timberlake has been spotted in the studio with the two men that have produced his entire solo discography, Pharrell Williams and Timbaland, but admitted to not having a timetable for the release of a new LP.
During a recent interview with BBC Radio, Timberlake expounded on his album plans, and admitted that working on “Can’t Stop The Feeling” reignited his flame for the studio. He went on to discuss collaborators, and somewhat accidentally dropped a nugget about working with The Weeknd. “He’s working on an album right no– I don’t know if I was supposed to say that.”
