If it ever crossed your mind to try out dog food, don’t do it, even if it is gourmet dog food. Serena Williams found out the hard way today while in Rome, Italy for the Italian Open. While at her hotel, Williams order food for her dog Chip from the “doggy menu.” She shares that the menu listed items such as soup, salmon, pasta, chicken and rice. Upon its arrival, she was so enamored with how the food looked, she thought “what the heck? I’m going to try a piece. It looks good.”
After eating a spoonful of the food, things didn’t go so well. Chronicling the entire scenario on her snapchat, Williams says that had to run to the toilet and felt like she was going to pass out. Moreover, she ended up having to force herself to swallow the food because at her own admission, it tasted like house cleaning products. Her parting words were, “I don’t think it’s consumable for humans, and they should’ve wrote that.” Williams has a matchup with Christina McHale tomorrow so hopefully she’ll be good to when the time comes.
