Cavaliers Dominate the Raptors Behind LeBron’s Triple Double

The Cleveland Cavaliers routed the Toronto Raptors last night, beating them 108-89. The game was close for most of the first half, but at the end of the second quarter the Cavs started to pull away and never looked back. The Cavaliers have now won 17 straight games against Eastern Conference teams in the playoffs, reaching all the way back to their series against the Chicago Bulls in last season’s playoffs.

Kyrie Irving dropped 26 points and LeBron James put up a triple-double, 23-11-11. LeBron also moved past Shaquille O’Neal on the all-time playoff scoring list into 4th place. The Cavs took care of business in this game to take a dominating 2-0 series lead.

The Raptors once again struggled to contain the potent offense of the Cavs. DeMar DeRozan put up a respectable 22 points, but Kyle Lowry struggled shooting and managed only 10 points, going 4-14 from the field. Lowry left the floor for a little while towards the end of the 2nd quarter to “decompress,” so it would seem that the Raptor’s floor general is having a crisis in confidence. The absence of Jonas Valanciunas was noticeable on both ends of the floor for the Raptors.

The series now moves to Toronto, where the Raptors will look to get back on track on their home court. The Cleveland Cavaliers seem to be on their way to sweeping their way to the Finals, but you never know what will happen if Drake shows up on the sidelines for games 3 and 4. The next game is on Saturday May 21, at 8:30 pm on ESPN.
