Idris Elba Pulls Out Of Prestigious Glastonbury Festival Gig

Idris Elba has been forced at the last minute to cancel his DJ gig at Glastonbury Festival due to his filming schedule. In case you didn’t know, the British talent is not only an actor, he’s also an accomplished DJ and recording artist.

Glastonbury is one of Britain’s biggest music festivals. Elba was scheduled to perform for the second year in a row, but realized the schedule for filming Stephen King‘s The Dark Tower clashed with his appearance time and decided to cancel his gig.

Elba took to Facebook to break the news using a video saying, “Glastonbury, it is with a very heavy heart that I let you know that I cant make it this year. I had to cancel my gig at the very last minute and I’m really sorry. It’s not my fault! I’ll tell you what, it’s my film schedule. It changed at the last minute and I had to cancel.”

Glastonbury Festival 2016 officially starts tomorrow [Wednesday, June 22] and will broadcast live. Although Elba was set to perform on Saturday night, be sure to tune into headliner Adele who’s set to hit the stage Saturday herself.
