Oprah Winfrey To Star In Ava DuVernay Directed ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ Remake

Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay are teaming up once again. This time it is to bring the classic novel A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle to the big screen with some help from Disney.

The 1963 Newberry Medal-winning novel is a beloved tale in fantasy literature which revolves around a Meg Murry, a young girl whose is searching for her scientist father. He has gone missing after working on a mysterious project called a tesseract.

Deadline Hollywood reports that Winfrey is set to portray Mrs. Which, a character who helps Meg on her travels. The script will be written by Frozen writer Jennifer Lee and is also rumored to have Amy Adams and Kevin Hart on board as well.

Winfrey and DuVernay have collaborated on the upcoming OWN series Queen Sugar as well as the 2014 NAACP Image Award-winning Selma.
