The Hip-Hop world was shaken with the loss of New York legend Prodigy on June 20th. Since then many artists have used their social media or live performances to pay homage to the Mobb Deep member’s name. Fellow New Yorker Nas joined in on the tributes, with a special performance of the iconic song “Shook Ones” at the Woo Hah! festival in the Netherlands.
Prodigy’s worldwide impact was clearly noted as fans chanted “RIP Prodigy” with the Illmatic artist ending the performance saying “We love you Prodigy.” Other artists such as Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, and more have acknowledged the fallen rapper and his legacy.
