What inspires your aspirations?

“I am a first generation entrepreneur. I was raised seeing strong, independent women work to create better lives for those around them. I didn’t have a blue print to follow but seeing other women like Yandy Smith, Yvette Noel Schure among others gave me the motivation that I needed to start my business. .My passion for writing, connecting with others and really wanting to see others win inspires me to continue to do my best in the public relations industry, making my mark on the world of beauty, film and entertainment. There are so many people who never reach their full potential in life and I am determined not to be one of them. It is my believe that we owe it to ourselves to push ourselves towards greatness. As a young African American female, now more than ever is the time to create opportunity.”

Where do you see yourself and career long-term?

“I see myself becoming more involved doing PR in the film and entertainment industries over the next 5 years. I have the privilege of working with some amazing indepent films and artists and I am excited the journey that is still ahead in those sectors. I want to open another business in the next 5 years, maybe a salon, or even something tech related that can help business owners with day to day operations.”

What was the most difficult situation you had to recently overcome and how did you not let it hinder you from your goals?

“I think being an entreprenuer, you are always overcoming a difficult situation in some form or fashion. For me, it’s realizing that I am not in control of anything and sometimes that’s a hard concept to grasp. Being in business, you go through various phases, you will have good days and you’ll have days that you want to give up. It’s not about what you go through, but how you choose to go through it and how you react to it. I’ve learn that when everything is chaotic, it’s time for me to step back, pray and let Jesus take the wheel. No matter what I face, I will never allow anything to hinder me because my life and dreams are so much bigger than me.”

What advice could you share to young girls on the same journey?

“I would encourage them to get to know themselves. In the PR industry, you have to have thick skin because the pressure is always on. Don’t be distracted by what you see on social media because everybody, no matter who they are, struggles from time to time. Also, make sure you know the craft, take time out to learn all you can about public relations and the industries you are interested in, do your best at every internship and understand that success doesn’t happen overnight.”

What legacy are you hoping to leave? I want to leave a legacy of greatness.

“I want people to know that you have what it takes to reach your goals. Don’t be afraid to take a leap of faith because it will lead you to your destiny. I want to be in a position to leave an inheiritance for my children and their children. My desire is to point people to Christ through my life and inspire as many people as I can to go after their dreams and live life on their terms.”
