Nick Cannon Laughs at Apology Request after ‘Offensive Act’ at Catholic University

Nick Cannon isn’t pulling any punches in his belief of, ‘Freedom of Speech’. Cannon performed at Georgian Catholic University for their 2017 Homecoming and Reunion festivities and apparently, ‘went off-script’. Promoted as a, ‘Comedy Showcase with Nick Cannon and Friends’ at the Lakewood’s Strand Theatre; the university claims that in anticipation of the audience, Nick was asked contractually to avoid using profanity or sexually explicit language.

Although the audience loved the comedian’s September 20th, performance Dean Marbach apparently wasn’t a fan of of Nick’s act. Issuing an email to students and staff, Marbach apologized for Cannon’s performance. Marbach said, “I want to acknowledge our profound disappointment with Nick Cannon, the featured artist for this past Saturday’s comedy showcase. Mr. Cannon blatantly disregarded the terms of our contract, and much of his act ran counter to what we stand for at GCU.”

Cannon promptly posted a screenshot of the email to his twitter and replied, “I ain’t apologizing for **** LOL… wait, I’m sorry your university doesn’t believe in freedom of speech!!!”. The retweets from students of the university seemed to be in support of Cannon’s show and their disappointment in how the school handled it. Cannon, who was a former host of America’s Got Talent and has his hit show Wild ‘N Out has been media frequently in his support of Colin Kaepernick and why he left AGT in the first place.
