Tidal has hosted the third annual benefit concert in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center but this time it was raising money for Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria relief efforts. The Tidal concert was headlined by JAY-Z and other acts including Fat Joe, Joey Bada$$, Cardi B, much more. For those that didn’t attend, you can still donate and see the show via the Tidal app. The collected funds will be distributed amongst organization who are helping with the hurricane victims who are in need of help and the earthquakes that took place in Mexico.
Angie Martinez hosted the show and thanked the fans for their attendance on showing the support for those in need. While Hov and Stevie Wonder were the biggest headliners of the show, you also seen from last night’s show that DJ Khaled brought out Swizz Beatz, T.I., Busta Rhymes and much more as his special guests. Remy Ma, Chris Brown, Jessie Reyes, J. Lo, Yo Gotti, Willow Smith, Belly, Jadakiss, Iggy Azalea, David Bisbal, Donnie McClurkin, Mack Wilds, Machel Montano, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Mr. Eazi, Charly Black, Justine Skye, Princess Nokia, Tee Grizzley, Rapsody, Kranium, Chloe x Halle, Cipha Sounds, Victory and more were in attendance.
With so much energy in the room, the perfect follow-up act was none other than Cardi B and her chart-topping single “Bodak Yellow.” Fans rapped the track word-for-word, which is no surprise since it was the anthem of the summer.
Yo Gotti came out wearing jacket with the release date of the album, Still I Am, out October 27. The crowd went wild once he performed both of his No. 1 platinum hit singles, “Rake It Up” and “Down in the DM” rapping word-for-word. Chris Brown came out with Travis Scott’s braids and continued to hype the crowd with performing “Party,” “Pose to Be,” and many more.
Fat Joe came onto the stage and we have seen him support Puerto Rico by having fans donating money, clothes and etc. so he can fly out there to give to them personally and performed his classic “Lean Back.” We knew Remy Ma will be showing up and she performed “Money Showers” and “All The Way Up.”
JAY-Z shut it down by coming out to perform “Family Feud.” He performed old school mix with new. Since he is from Brooklyn, he did a classic hit “New York.” After the crowd was rapping to “Public Service Announcement.”
