Tina Knowles Lawson and her husband, actor Richard Lawson, took Entertainment Tonight on a tour of their soon-to-be-opened theater WACO Theater Center in Los Angeles last Wednesday. WACO, the acronym for Where Art Can Occur, will serve as a center where “artists and non-artists alike will be taught to develop their true purpose and awaken their own individual power source which fuels their art,” with a grand opening date set for November 3.
The Carter grandparents expressed thoughts about their grandchildren and latest additions, twins Sir and Rumi Carter. “When we look at those twins, and we look at Blue, we look at the world they’re coming in…man, we got a lot of work to do,” Richard describes.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s twins, Sir and Rumi Carter, are the first twin experience for Mrs. Lawson, and she finds the two newborns irresistible. When asked about the twins, Tina states, “They’re doing great. They are absolutely beautiful and they’re so much fun.” Tina adds, “I mean, I haven’t ever been around twins, but, I mean, it’s so cute and I can hardly take it!”
Tina also describes big sister Blue Ivy Carter as being “such a good big sister.”
Grandpa Lawson says the twins are causing Blue to mature, as she is taking her responsibility as a big sister seriously, but remains to be the diva in the Carter clan. “You can see the transition in terms of her being a little bit more calm. She’s the diva, but she’s sharing her diva-dom.”
The Lawsons also agree to ET’s inquiry about probable different personalities of the twins.
Tina also opens up about her humor-bound social media use, and how her own children feel about it, which prompts the common response of, “Mom, really?”
In case people have been in wonders about Tina’s relationship with Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, the glamma says they both share an interest in art collecting. “We have a great passion for art and we talk about it all the time, and he shows me new artists and sometimes I show him new artists. He has a great eye.”
