Eve wasted no time sharing her thoughts as the new co-host of The Talk. As Nicki Minaj broke the internet while being featured as new cover of Paper Magazine, Eve was not too fond of the cover.
“I worked with Nicki, I got to know her on ‘Barbershop’… she’s a nice person, she’s an amazing rapper, and as a lyricist I respect her… but as a woman, from my point of view, personally, I would not be able to do that,” Eve said. She continued on by recognizing that artists don’t ask to be role models, they just become one.
The rapper and actress knew Nicki’s fans would come for her expressing her opinion, however she made sure to stress that she had love for Nicki and she was all about women thriving in this hip-hop world. Nonetheless, she still couldn’t agree with the magazine cover and said,
“It’s not my thing. I just don’t think it’s right. Personally. Period. That’s it.”
