Hennessy has tapped A$AP Ferg for a new collaboration for their Never Stop, Never Settle. series.
The collaboration, which officially launched Wednesday (Jan. 17) offers fans a limited-edition offering from rapper and painter A$AP Ferg, bringing together three of the artist’s passions: art, music and Cognac, the collab marks Hennessy’s latest creative collaboration centered around the notion of pushing the limits of one’s potential.
In addition to dropping artwork and a signature cocktail, the legendary Cognac and Harlem emcee have also dropped a new digital video for the Never Stop. Never Settle. detailing Ferg’s story from humble beginnings in Harlem to his rise within Hip-Hop and the powerhouse collective A$AP Mob.
In an exclusive statement to The Source, Ferg revealed how he felt about collaborating with such a staple in pop culture.
“Greatness comes and goes, inspiration plants the seeds in others, which are the things that live forever. I don’t strive to be great, I strive to be an inspiration for those who come after me. To lay down the blueprint for the next generation.”
Shot in Harlem, the video features Ferg sharing his unique creative process that’s established him as a master behind the mic, as well as in other endeavors, including painting. To commemorate the latest venture, Ferg dropped his latest single, “Family”, which serves as the background for the heartfelt video.
More than just music, Ferg discusses his passions while painting an image from his latest launch cover, Still Striving. The painting is inspired by his dedication to art and music and is filled with vibrant colors referencing his notion that colors can help to make the world brighter. In regards to his painting, Ferg revealed that his painting debut is more of a self-portrait.
“The painting is metaphoric of how I prepare to push the limits of potential and take on the world,” Ferg continued in the statement. “This picture of me tying my doo-rag reminds me of Rambo getting ready for combat.”
These same colors inspired the creation of the Hennessy Uptown, a new cocktail featuring Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège exclusively available through premiere cocktail delivery service, Cocktail Courier. The Hennessy Uptown Inspired by A$AP Ferg Cocktail Kit includes ingredients to make eight Ferg-inspired cocktails and will be available for purchase beginning January 17th at CocktailCourier.com. The first 100 kits also include a limited-edition vinyl of Ferg’s “Family” track, housed in a custom record sleeve that depicts Ferg’s artwork.
