Wyclef Jean has been ordered to pay nearly half a million dollars over foreclosed home in Miami

“Someone please call 911″…

A Florida judge has ordered Wyclef Jean to pay $484,554.90 due to a year long battle after losing his home due to foreclosure.

According to Blast, back in 2008, Wyclef was sued for defaulting on his mortgage for a Miami home he bought but had yet to be finished. The judge ordered the home to be sold off at a foreclosure auction and hit Wyclef with a $2.4 million judgment. After selling his property to a third party for $1.6 million, it left a deficiency of $824,000 owed by the rapper. Moving forward, Mr. Jean signed an agreement with one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, The Cruz Family Irrevocable Trust, to pay them a total of $350,000. He was expected to make monthly installments in 2015, until the balance was paid off, but failed to do so.

Court documents stated that Wyclef allegedly gave The Cruz Family the run around and never made a single payment. The Cruz Family went back to court recently, to request that the judge sign off on a final judgment against Wyclef and the $350k that he owes, plus interest. Unfortunately things didn’t work out in Jean’s favor. The judge sided with the Cruz family, ordering Wyclef to pay the entire balance with interest, which came to a total of $484,554.90.

Documents have also been filed in New Jersey to begin seizing his assets in order to collect the money owed.
