He contributed to one of Hip Hop’s most revered and analyzed projects, the Criminal Minded album and was viewed as one of the top producers in the game during the budding Golden Era. At the height of Criminal Minded’s success, Scott Sterling was gunned down on a South Bronx street trying to mediate a dispute between D-Nice and some of his associates in Highbridge Projects in 1987.
