Nicholas Cage To Play Spider Man Role In Spin-Off Flick

Nicholas Cage is set to play Spider-Man in a new spin-off movie, according to Collider.

The actor will voice ‘Spider-Man Noir’ in the upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is a separate franchise from the current Marvel movies.

Into the Spider-Verse is based around a comic book multi-verse which features different dimensions, each with their own Spider-Man.

Set in America during the Great Depression of the 1930’s, the Noir dimension will be a darker take on the comic book icon.

Many actors have played the role over the years, including Toby Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland, who will appear in the next Marvel installment of the movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, in 2019.

Cage, meanwhile, appears to be enjoying playing more than one superhero at the moment, as the actor has also confirmed he will voice Superman in the film Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.
