The porn star who is currently suing Donald Trump was arrested at a strip club in Ohio on Wednesday. Stormy Daniels is currently facing misdemeanor charges for allegedly touching a patron at Sirens Gentleman’s club in Columbus. According to reports, Daniels was released on $6,054 bail and will be arraigned Friday morning for the minor charges.
Daniels lawyer, Michael Avenatti, has called the arrest “politically motivated.” “She was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her while on stage in a non-sexual manner! Are you kidding me,” Avenatti wrote on Twitter. During the general election, Ohio was a battleground state that ultimately was won by Donald Trump. However, during the primary Governor John Kasich won the state over Trump.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has been performing at strip clubs across the country as part of the”Make America Horny Again” tour. Some concerns were raised during her tour in regards to performances in states that strongly support the President because of the current lawsuit.
Daniels is currently suing President Trump for defamation after news broke that during the campaign, Trump paid the adult actress $130,000 in exchange for her silence about an affair. The President has denied all allegations of the 2006 affair, but his own lawyer who was involved in the payment confirmed its existence. At the time of the alleged encounter, Trump was married to current First Lady Melania Trump for a year.
Daniels is also suing the President to gain freedom from the non-disclosure agreement about the affair although Daniels has already sat down with CBS’ 60 Minutes to tell her story which would be a violation of the NDA. Daniels’ legal team claims that the NDA is invalid because Trump did not sign the document.
Should Daniels win the lawsuit, she will be able to tell her story and possibly provide any evidence she has of its existence.
