Drake is spearheading a vicious roll on the charts. The self-proclaimed “Six God” has racked his sixth number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “In My Feelings” jumping to number one. Thanks to this reach, Drake is now officially the rapper with the most Hot 100 number ones, dethroning Diddy, Eminem, and Ludacris from the milestone, Billboard reports.
Prior to the release of his recording breaking fifth studio album Scorpion, Drake’s Hot 100 No. 1 ranking was at three. The release of Scorpion spawned the Toronto artist three chart-topping singles, doubling his number ones. “In My Feelings,” “Nice for What,” and “God’s Plan” have all maintained the number one spot for over one week.
The streaming figures for “In My Feelings” skyrocketed a little over fifty-percent once the culture of social media trends bugged the track. Last week, Instagram comic The Shiggy Show sparked the “In My Feelings” challenge when he posted a video of Drake doing his viral dance #DoTheShiggy. Since the challenge has taken over the mass of people activity, including celebrities such as Ciara, Kevin Hart, and Lala.
Scorpion became Drake’s eighth album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 and also had the largest streaming week for a full-length release with 745 million streams. The album appears to be a cult favorite of his fan base, since it is attached to lasting trends and longed surprises (Degrassi reunion). Let’s see where else Scorpion will take Drake.
