It’s summertime in NYC folks, so you already know what the moves are in July…Curlfest, hello! Curlfest is one of the most raved about events in NYC because it gives naturalistas a safe place to unapologetically flaunt their luscious locs, bouncy fros, and poppin’ fades without judgment. Approximately 25,000 people attended the festival this past Saturday and the vibes were amazing. Being its fifth year, the founders of Curly Girl Collective have paved a way for anyone that has had difficulties with embracing their natural hair, especially from society’s expectation of beauty. Curlfest gives us that safe space to be free, and it’s more than a fulfilling experience.
