According to the Wall Street Journal, all 18 of the company’s have already learned of the decision. Meanwhile, Page Six says those employees will be laid off instead of being transferred to new departments.

Before joining her father in the White House, Trump was the executive vice president of acquisitions and development. The brand was known to offer an array of ready-to-wear womenswear including clothing, handbags, fashion jewelry, and shoes. Prices typically ranged from $100-$500. Back in 2017, the brand had a store located inside the Trump Tower.

The Trump name isn’t embraced by all as the Ivanka Trump brand made headlines in 2016 when Shannon Coulter started the #GrabYourWallet campaign. The campaign was essentially a list of all the retailers who carried Ivanka’s brand product.

All while subsequently encouraging consumers to boycott the brand altogether. As a result, major retailers such as  Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, DSW, and Canada’s Hudson’s Bay have dropped the Ivanka Trump fashion brand. Each retailer maintained that the brand was axed due to sales and not politics.

“After 17 months in Washington, I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I am doing here in Washington,” she told the Journal. “So making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners.”

Given her experience in fashion, you’d think she would help her mother make better fashion choices.
