When it comes to gangster rap, there are two types of rappers; those who have lived the life and those who are only pretenders. Cesare, however, is in a category all his own.
Born Franco Di Cesare, he grew up in a traditional Italian setting with both of his parents and two brothers among a community with close ties to the Italian Mob. His father is from Abruzzo (Pacentro) and his mother is from Napoli and they both taught him an appreciation for his heritage and culture. They also taught him a love for music, though he discovered Hip Hop all on his own. As his love for the genre of music grew, it only made sense that he would combine that with the stories and experiences that have come from his life lived in such close proximity to “The Family.”
“Capo Di Tutti i Capi” is slated to be released on Aug. 7, with an official global launch of the single “Rain Dance” on Aug. 10. Cesare credits a handful of people who have helped bring the album to life, including super producer Helluva (who produced five tracks on the album, including “Una Cosa Di Famiglia” and “Rain Dance”), Young Buck from G-Unit, Payroll Giovanni, Angelo, S.A. Calle Inmortal, Spit Vishiss, legendary bass player Tony “T-Money” Green, Duminie Deporres, Bizarre from D-12, Royal House, and Kehoa (an R&B singer from Atlanta who is featured on the song “For Mamma.”)
