Last night, RBRM took over the stage at Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk in Brooklyn NY. Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie Devoe along with Bobby Brown put on an unforgettable performance to a sold out show and Bobby announced to the crowd that a BBD Biopic is in the making!
DJ Kid Capri opened the show scratching and mixing old school favorites. The openly aired amphitheater was filled with music fans looking to enjoy the last day of summer. R&B Singer Case followed belting through his ballads and his Foxy Brown featured song, “Touch Me, Tease Me” warming the crowd up for the headliners of the evening. Approaching the stage with drama and star power, the four members of the legendary R&B group New Edition danced and sang through their classics for a stadium of die-hard fans. Complete with an army of dancers donning throwback 90’s clothing—and dances, the energy in the building was kin to that of a 90’s house party.
Each member introduced the other into a montage of hits. Ricky Bell took his time onstage to sing some of his soul soothing verses and Michael Bivins and Ronnie Devoe rapped through BBD jams dancing like they haven’t missed a step—or aged at all. Still beaming from the success of ‘The New Edition Story’ and ‘The Bobby Brown biopic’, Bobby also danced like his younger self, showcasing his still smooth and impressive vocal range once again claiming his title in the game. Running through, “Don’t Be Cruel”, “My Prerogative” and “That’s The Way Love Is” the crowd finished singing every single note.
The highlight of the show included Ricky admitting New Edition was jealous of some of the songs Bobby received including “Every Little Step” to which Bobby replied, “Every song I sang was tailor-made for Bobby Brown.” The crowd screamed as all four members interchanged singing each other’s verses and choruses giving fans a special treat.
