R&B veteran, Bobby V, recently dropped a new album entitled, Electrik. It has been two years since the ATL crooner’s last project in 2016. Electrik is laced with 13 mood setting tracks one can play, while the candles are lit and the lights are dimmed low. The “Slow Down” singer linked up with legendary R&B duo Tim & Bob for the new project.
The Grammy Award-winning duo was instrumental on Valentino’s self-titled debut album. The Illinois natives co-wrote and produced the Billboard-topping single “Slow Down.” If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Bobby teamed up with his go-to producers for the 13 R&B tracks. In those 13 songs, there is only one feature, that comes from the album’s lead single, “Lil Bit.” The tracks feature West Coast OG, Snoop Dogg.
In the song Uncle Snoops raps:
Thoroughbred, you can tremble
Snoop Dogg, on the platter, small sample
Hors d’oeuvre’s big words
G7’s big bird
As an R&B veteran, the former Disturbing The Peace artist feels that R&B is still alive and well, but a lot of rappers are singers now.
“If all the rappers are singing, then it kind of leaves a void for R&B,” he says. “But the more that radio embraces R&B, it won’t go nowhere.”
In addition, to the new album, Bobby V has welcomed a baby girl into the world. He is looking forward to directing her career as an R&B singer as well.
“The album should be coming out in 20 years,” he says.
