Kim Kardashian recently received backlash for ripping off a handful of Naomi Campbell’s vintage looks.
The beauty mogul posted a series of photos in bomb outfits that was previously seen on the supermodel walking down the runway in the 1990s. She even rocked a vintage Versace dress to Chance The Rapper’s wedding.
The problem isn’t that Kim was inspired by Naomi, like many of us are. But she’s an influential figure with a large, diverse following and it’s important that she pays homage to the Black influencers that inspires her so that her fans are misled to think that she started a trend that she didn’t.

Kylie Jenner even caught some heat for sporting a look inspired by Rifat Ozbek’s Spring/Summer 1995 collection originally modeled by Naomi Campbell.

Apparently the reality star had enough of the dragging and seemingly paid homage to our Black Queen. “Naomi Forever” she wrote in the caption of a series of photos where she’s seen in the 1995 Versace dress.
