The 2019 Met Gala, an annual fundraiser that benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York, was as flamboyant as ever last night. This year’s theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” named in reference to the pivotal 1964 essay “Notes on Camp” by the late cultural critic Susan Sontag.
Without question, this has regularly become one of the most popular events of the year, where high fashion is on full display, and celebrities from every sector of the entertainment industry gather to show the world their grandiose couture as interpretations of the theme of the night.
