Some people say the west coast is the best coast, and maybe because of the insane talent that originates from the area. An artist who falls under this category is King Wess, who coincidentally has not always entertained a career in music. Growing up playing sports, he initially had different plans for himself. However, things quickly took a turn after his passion for writing poetry eventually evolved into that of expressing his thoughts through lyrics. Around two years ago, he followed the music and hasn’t stopped ever since.
What is so inspiring about King Wess is how committed he is to continue learning every single in and out of the music industry. To this, he spent an entire nine months purely studying everything he could learn about how to be successful in a budding music career. “I knew something big had to change. I listened to my favorite artists like Nipsey Hussle, and I knew I had to put something together that was truly cool. I released my first song at the end of 2017, and that only made me want to work harder,” said King Wess. The more he focused on perfecting his craft and navigating his signature sound, the more confident he grew.

His sound can be described as versatile and relatable, as he’s always aiming for his music to provide fans with an enjoyable experience. “I put so much thought into everything I do, especially right now with visuals for my new EP ‘Highway 101’. I’m a creative, and these visuals allow me to tap into my fullest creative potential. I want to bring the fans something unique,” said the artist. King Wess’ EP is definitely going to be a banger all around, which will be available for release in a few weeks.
In terms of what sets King Wess apart from the rest, it’s purely his vibe. It’s completely infectious, and ultimately makes you want to share a musical experience with him via his lyrics. His goal is to be a platform for the people to feel a direct connection to him, which is dope in and of itself. He will never be that artist who is cocky, and made sure we knew that, partially due to his stage name.
