Tyler Perry Announces Debut Netflix Film “A Fall From Grace”

Tyler Perry doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

The businessman and entertainment mogul announced that he is taking his talents to Netflix and will be debuting a new film A Fall From Grace on the platform early next year. Tyler classified the film as a thriller as it will follow a woman named Grace Waters, played by Crystal Fox, who is heartbroken by her husband’s affair and finds herself in another relationship full of secrets and violence.

The film is shot entirely and will be released from Perry’s studio lot that he opened earlier this year. Perry became the first black person to own their studio lot, which used to be the grounds of a confederate army base. Since then, movies such as Bad Boys III, and Coming To America 2 are being filmed there.

“[It] meant that there were Confederate soldiers on that base, plotting and planning on how to keep 3.9 million Negroes enslaved, and now that land is owned by one Negro,” he said. “So while you’re fighting for a seat at the table, I’ll be down in Atlanta building my own.”

“For every critic that said how horrible my films were, and typically they weren’t black, I got thousands of letters from people telling me how much the work was literally changing their lives,” he added of his accomplishment. “Had I focused on the criticism, I wouldn’t own this studio today. I could not have gotten here without Madea.”
