SOURCE SPORTS: Spurs’ Lamarcus Aldridge Out for Season with Shoulder Injury

The San Antonio Spurs will continue their playoff push without their leading rebounder and second-leading scorer. Lamarcus Aldridge will not return to the team this season after having shoulder surgery in April.

Aldridge missed six games with an injured shoulder and returned to play the day before the season was suspended on March 10th. The former Portland Blazers big man had his surgery on April 24th and a three-month recovery seems to not be enough to return this season.

The Spurs were one of the 22 teams invited to resume the season in Orlando, but the Spurs hopes for making the playoffs this year were slim. The normal NBA season was suspended with the Spurs being the 12th seed in the Western Conference.

Aldridge is entitled to $24 million next season when he is expected to return before the season starts.
