Bronx native and recording artist, Apollo Rai (pronounced Ray), releases new single “Slyme Time” produced by DocOnDaBeat with accompanying visuals. Upon the up-tempo beat and melodic drums, Rai shares his experiences of coping with street life, friends in prison, and overcoming the impoverished inner-city streets he’s grown accustomed to. This versatile banger has a dirty south sound but appeals to his core east coast fan base. The visual, directed by Setlife, begins with Rai in police custody being transported to his cell in a hometown prison. Shackled with a bulletproof vest on, Apollo expresses what many young, black males caught in the street life, experiences at least once in their life. It continues on with a shot of assumed officers in riot gear approaching with a twisted ending.
Prior to “Slyme Time”, Rai presently working with GSTAR management and his close relationship with JI took his talents on the HLK tour. Both of them being with GSTARR management has been a blessing and released a single entitled, “Sandbox”. This song fastly became his breakout record in early 2020.
