International Spotlight: L-Easy’s Journey To Stardom

How do you make it in the music industry today? What does it take to establish yourself as a musician? Well, these are a couple of the questions that young and upcoming musicians are likely to ask their well-established counterparts. The sad reality is that it takes more than just talent to find fame in the music world. Some people equate talent to account for less than 10% of what’s needed to be a star in music showbiz and the rest needs hard work, commitment, and focus. However, there is no clearly defined path to success in music, and it is part of the learning process every day.

The good news is that you stand a chance to learn from some of the most prominent artists who have had inspiring journeys. L-Easy, a Nigerian-based singer and music producer, is unique and has inspiring stories of his rise to stardom. He had to overcome all kinds of hurdles to see his dream come true.

He grew up in Port-Harcourt in south Nigeria with the passion and a vision to make music that would impact the world. He aspired to make universal music that would cross all boundaries and enhance unity. Like other artists, L-Easy found it tough to access the studios despite coming from Nigeria’s second-best source of musical talents, Port-Harcourt. Getting someone to believe in his dream was also a challenging task, but he never gave up. He had a vision and knew his purpose was with music. So he pushed himself to the limits. Today, he is the proud founder of L-Easy Music WorldWide, a record label aiming to uplift new promising talents.

He is also taking the industry by storm with his unique sound – a fusion of RnB, hip-hop, and Afro beats that he grew up listening to. He was inspired by JayZ, Pharell, and DJ Khaled, with their influence evident in his style of music. His debut album, ‘The Maturation,’ reflects his musical background, cutting across different sounds and genres. Playing the Khaled role, he has featured several top-ranked musicians from Jamaica, America, and his motherland. Together, the musicians create a unique track, which is pleasing to the ears and has a special touch.

Throughout the six years he has been in the industry; he has always endeavored to use the unifying power of music to bring the world together. This is something that every musician should embrace, considering the fast-rising cases of ethnic and racial profiling in the world. He enters collaborations with diverse artists to reach a broader audience.

L-Easy is also passionate about helping young artists find their way into the industry. As a music producer, he uses the L-Easy music worldwide record label to assist new talented artists who need opportunities. As a good reminder to other artists, he leads by example on how one can help others grow. He still remembers his own battles to the top. He is willing to help other talented newcomers so they do not have to undergo such an ordeal.

He has two artists, Hitboy Kellz and Highlife Soes, signed under the label and they are already showing signs of soon dominating the Nigerian music scene. The two talents remind him of his early days coming from a challenging environment but having a dream to make it to the top in life. Being in a position to help gives him a great sense of fulfillment.
