Washington, D.C. born R&B artist Kevin Ross unveils the accompanying video for “Sweet Release.” The single which debuted #10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart was released via Art Society Music Group (ASMG). In his latest visual Ross captures the essence of the modern-multi-hyphenated woman and intricately wraps her in layers of strength, courage, and compassion for an endless well of inspiration.
Through intimate vignettes and carefully selected emblems of identity, the music video follows the leading lady as she lets go of the unknown and captures her “sweet release.” Covering her eyes, she wears a blindfold that highlights words such as “Confident”, “Capable”, “Empowered”and “Queen”.
The Soul Train Music Awards nominee serves as a narrator throughout this process and is seen playing a grand piano over a dreamy and hypnotic ocean of clouds. Written, produced, and recorded by Ross, “Sweet Release” is set out to be a transformative song that urges everyone to look within to find their own meaningful escape.
“When you listen to me, I hope the music makes you feel something, puts a smile on your face, or provides comfort,” Ross shares. “It’s much bigger than me. I want you to make memories to these songs. I couldn’t ask for anything else.” Ross continued, “For me to be complete, I need to write, produce, arrange, mix, and perform on stage to affect people. I feel like I’m doing what I need to do, and this is where I’m meant to be today.”
