Young Thug Attorney Brian Steel Files Motion To Disqualify Judge In Young Thug’s YSL RICO Case

The YSL RICO criminal trial just gets crazier by the day. Attorney for main defendant Young Thug, Brian Steel has filed a motion to replace Judge Ural D. Glanville, alleging judicial misconduct. This is serious. And Steel may have a point.

As reported by TMZ, Steel claims that Judge Glanville is biased, stating, “The court has joined the prosecutors’ team and is biased against Mr. Williams and favorable to the prosecutors as objectively demonstrated on June 10, 2024, as well as throughout the pendency of this case.”

Get this, the motion, in part stems from Steel accusing the judge of participating in an “unlawful, improper ex parte meeting” involving Kenneth Copeland, which Steel argues violated Young Thug’s constitutional rights, including due process and a fair trial.

ICYMI that whole argument resulted in Steel being held in contempt for not revealing the source of his information about the alleged secret meeting.

Steel’s jail sentence was set from June 14 to August 18, but the Georgia Supreme Court granted Steel an emergency request for bond on June 12.

During the six month long trial, Kenneth Copeland admitted to lying to authorities, with Young Thug’s former associate, Lil Woody, also confessing to providing false information in police interviews since 2015.

Law & Crime reported that during a June 13 testimony, Copeland appeared irritated and confirmed his dishonesty, saying he fabricated stories the authorities wanted to hear.

What do ya’ll think? Is the judge going to be removed? Will this be a mistrial? Stay tuned.
