Diddy’s legal troubles continue to mount as federal prosecutors have expanded the charges against him in a superseding indictment. The disgraced music mogul was previously accused of heinous crimes against a former girlfriend, but the latest development adds allegations from two additional women. The indictment also broadens the timeline of the alleged offenses, now dating back to 2004 instead of the previously stated 2008.
Initially, Diddy was charged with racketeering conspiracy and the transportation of a former girlfriend, referred to as “Victim 1” in court documents, for prostitution. The revised indictment escalates the charges to include sex trafficking. According to TMZ, the new filing alleges that two more women endured similar abuse, including being coerced into commercial sex acts.
The identities of these additional accusers remain undisclosed, but one of them claims she was subjected to mistreatment akin to what Diddy’s ex, Cassie Ventura, described in her previous lawsuit—including being dangled over a balcony. Federal prosecutors have also added a kidnapping charge involving a firearm.
The new allegations challenge the argument previously put forth by Diddy’s legal team, which insisted that the indictment involved only one accuser. “There’s one victim in the indictment…,” his attorney previously told CNN. “What they did, and it’s a little too cute, is it’s 50 witnesses or victims. It’s one victim. That’s all that’s in the indictment.” The inclusion of multiple victims now undermines that claim.
Despite the mounting accusations, Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, remains defiant. In a statement to CNN, he dismissed the latest charges as an attempt to reframe past relationships. “The latest indictment contains no new offenses,” Agnifilo stated. “The government has added the ridiculous theory that two of Mr. Combs’ former girlfriends were not girlfriends at all but were prostitutes. Mr. Combs is as committed as ever to fighting these charges and winning at trial.”
As the case unfolds, Diddy’s once-untouchable empire continues to unravel under the weight of multiple lawsuits and federal scrutiny.
