Will Smith has joined forces with Big Sean for new single Beautiful Scars, which also features OBanga.
Get this, the single is released under Slang Recordings, and dives deep into the struggles and growth that come with fame, touching on the lessons learned from mistakes and embracing the “beautiful scars” left behind. That part.
The song is accompanied by a visual inspired by The Matrix, in which Smith steps into the role of Neo, while Big Sean channels the iconic Morpheus.
In case you didn’t know, once upon a time, Smith was considered to play Neo in The Matrix. Keanu Reeve eventually got the role and the rest was history.
Back to the collaboration, which marks the first taste of Smith’s upcoming album, Based On A True Story, set for release in March. The album will be his first full-length project in over two decades, following his 2005 album Lost and Found. Based On A True Story is poised to be the first installment of a three-part series, which Smith is releasing through SLANG Recordings. In addition to Beautiful Scars, the album will include previously released tracks like You Can Make It, Work of Art, and Tantrum.
