The legal troubles for Sean “Diddy” Combs continue to mount as Houston attorney Tony Buzbee has filed another lawsuit against the embattled music mogul. This latest case, brought forth in New York on behalf of a John Doe, alleges that Combs drugged and assaulted the plaintiff during an incident that occurred in 2015.
The Allegations
According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff, a 23-year-old aspiring rapper and singer, had been invited to perform as an opening act at a series of Los Angeles nightclubs, including QC’s 20/20. The performance carried high stakes, as Doe was told that Diddy would be in attendance and could potentially offer him a coveted deal with Bad Boy Records.
After his performance, Doe attended an exclusive afterparty where he alleges the atmosphere was rife with drug use among prominent entertainers. The suit claims that one of Combs’ associates handed the Doe a drink and was informed that it came from Combs himself. Shortly after consuming the drink, Doe began to feel disoriented and realized he had been drugged.
The lawsuit details chilling allegations of what occurred next: Doe claims he drifted in and out of consciousness, witnessing Diddy and his entourage engaging in group activities with individuals who appeared to be either drugged, unconscious, or paid escorts. He further alleges that he awoke to Combs groping him and believes that Combs performed oral sex on him.
In a harrowing turn of events, Doe claims he tried to resist but was warned that doing so would ruin his chances of achieving success in the music industry. He was then allegedly coerced into engaging in sexual acts with a woman present at the party. Using a ruse to get water and go to the bathroom, Doe ultimately managed to escape and flee the venue.
Combs’ Response
In a statement to Variety, Combs’ legal team dismissed the allegations as a “publicity stunt” and expressed confidence that the truth would exonerate him. “Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor,” the statement reads.
Tony Buzbee’s Pursuit of Justice
Attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the plaintiff in this case, has made headlines for spearheading numerous lawsuits against Combs in recent years. Buzbee has previously stated that he has over 300 clients lined up with allegations against the Bad Boy Entertainment CEO, many involving claims of assault or misconduct.
This latest suit adds to the growing legal challenges facing Combs, who has seen his reputation increasingly scrutinized after these allegations. As the case progresses, it remains to be seen how the courts will address these claims and whether additional lawsuits will emerge from Buzbee’s roster of clients.
For now, this case serves as another chapter in the ongoing legal battle surrounding one of hip-hop’s most prominent figures.
