Kendrick Lamar’s winning streak continues, and it looks like the Compton rapper may have another major event to add to his resume, this time with the 2028 Summer Olympics. After claiming five Grammy Awards in February, including recognition for his historic Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” and performing at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, Lamar is poised to make his mark at the world’s biggest sporting event.
Casey Wasserman, chairman of the 2028 LA Olympics organizing committee, recently hinted at Kendrick’s involvement while speaking to the Associated Press. He didn’t give specific details, but his statement has fans buzzing.
“Fortunately, in my day job, I represent Kendrick Lamar,” Wasserman said. “He is truly an L.A. icon, so I think it would be a pretty fair bet that Kendrick will be involved in the Olympics in Los Angeles in some way.”
While Lamar’s exact role is still unknown, the possibility of him taking center stage at the Games has sparked excitement among music and sports fans alike.
The announcement also coincides with Kendrick’s upcoming Grand National tour with SZA, which kicks off on April 19 in Minneapolis before passing through Houston, Seattle, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The North American leg will wrap up in June, with an international leg set to begin in July.
