High Point Entrepreneur, Denise Smith, Aims to Disrupt Education with Financial Literacy Books HIGH POINT, N.C.

Denise Smith, founder and CEO of Million Dollar Thrive Network, is launching a series of books designed to bridge the gap in entrepreneurial and financial literacy education for middle and high school students. Smith, based in High Point, N.C., aims to address what she sees as a critical flaw in the traditional education system, which often overlooks essential life skills such as entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and adaptability.

Her new book, “The Power of Adaptability (Thriving in a Changing World),” launched Dec. 3, 2025, is part of this initiative. “The lack of entrepreneurial and financial literacy education in middle and high schools leaves students vulnerable and unprepared for the rapidly changing job market and the evolving demands of the global economy,” Smith said. “I’m essentially giving them the proper tools to thrive in a constantly changing world.”

The books are designed to be age-appropriate and include stories of successful entrepreneurs, case studies, interactive activities, and exercises that encourage students to think creatively and develop their own entrepreneurial ideas. A key focus is on adaptability, preparing students to navigate and thrive in a world of constant change.

Smith’s goal is to equip students with critical skills that are often overlooked in traditional education, enhancing their critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and resilience. “By introducing entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and adaptability into the education system through these books, I aim to equip students with critical skills that are often overlooked in traditional education,” Smith said.

Smith’s journey to entrepreneurship was marked by significant challenges, including growing up in a broken home, experiencing homelessness, and overcoming physical, mental, and emotional abuse. She credits her faith and dedication to her mission for her resilience. “The Power of Adaptability has been a major key to my success,” Smith said. Notable business achievements include the launch of “The Power of Adaptability,” available at Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and Amazon. In the coming years, Smith plans to visit middle schools, high schools, and colleges to connect with students and teach them how to transition into entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

Her long-term goal is to open her own school focused on financial literacy. “I want the next generation to know that they can become successful no matter where they come from,” Smith said. “The measure of success is not determined by materialistic things, but rather the relationships and connections that you build with people.” Smith’s work aims to create a social impact by fostering a more innovative and adaptable future generation.
