Sexyy Red Thinks She’s “Most Hated” Female Rapper, Hints Industry Plays a Role

Here’s some Tuesday positivity for you … Rapper Sexyy Red has opened up about feeling like the “most hated” female artist in hip-hop, suggesting that behind-the-scenes industry dynamics may contribute to the criticism she faces. During a candid conversation with radio host Big Boy, the 26-year-old artist shared her thoughts on the backlash she often encounters.

“I feel like I’m the most hated female rapper. Like, they hate on me the most. I get a lot of love, but I know when they be hating on me. They be hating on me. It be like little inside st,” Sexyy Red said around the 27-minute mark of the interview.

Oh, there’s more. She went on to speculate whether industry forces, including record labels, could fuel some of the negativity.

“They trying to put me down. I be feeling like, ‘Is y’all sending people to comment under here?’ I feel like it’s some hidden agendas… It could be labels. I just be feeling muthafkers be tryna bring me [down]. Like they don’t like seeing me win and I be seeing people say that in the comments. Like ‘Why do y’all hate her so much? She just be chillin’.”

Get this, Big Boy, a longtime radio personality, empathized with her perspective, recalling how he became a fan of her music. He also pointed out that some listeners judge artists before giving their work a fair chance.

“There are people that’ll hear a song and sometimes, people don’t even listen to everything. They’ll look at something and they’ll hate it,” Big Boy said. *”They’ll look at the packaging and they’ll hate it… So, with society, we hate first sometimes, but when I saw [you on *The Shop], how can you not fk with her?”

The bottom line is that Sexyy Red maintains that she’s a good-hearted person, though she won’t hesitate to stand up for herself when necessary.

“I’m not even an evil-hearted person, so why would you wanna do me like that?… I will beat the fk outta you, but don’t bring that outta me,” she quipped.
