Take notes on how to be happy with your partner, ya’ll. Music power couple Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys have revealed the surprising key to their long-lasting marriage: they’ve never once raised their voices at each other.

Married since 2010, the couple blends their family with Swizz’s children from previous relationships – Prince Nasir, 24, Kaseem Jr., 18, and Nicole, 16.
The couple has made a conscious effort to maintain peace in their household, ensuring their children – 14-year-old Egypt and 10-year-old Genesis – have never witnessed parental discord. “Since we’ve been together, our kids [have] never seen it; never seen us raise our voice [or] never seen us yell. Never seen us curse at each other. Why? Because of communication,” he explained.
What’s more, while they acknowledge having disagreements, the couple has perfected the art of resolving conflicts calmly. “When you yell at each other, no one is really listening anyway. Nothing gets solved in each other’s yelling,” Swizz noted.
