Memphis Police Identify Suspect In Sauce Walka Shooting That Killed Rapper Sayso P

Memphis Police have ID’d a suspect in the shooting that left rapper Sauce Walka injured and claimed the life of his artist, Sayso P. The two were outside a hotel near the FedEx Forum on March 22 when they were ambushed by gunmen. Sayso P, whose real name was Latorian Hunt, suffered fatal injuries, while Sauce Walka was shot in the leg but survived.

According to a new report from TMZ on Wednesday (March 26), authorities have issued a warrant for 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge. He faces felony charges, including first-degree murder, two counts of employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and auto theft. Memphis Police also recovered the vehicle used in the attack, a stolen 2021 Dodge Charger. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information that could lead to Dandridge’s arrest to contact 901-528-CASH, with a $6,000 reward being offered.

Following Sayso P’s tragic death, Sauce Walka took to social media on Tuesday (March 25) to express his grief, sharing photos and videos of their time together.

“Words or tears can’t explain the loss I feel!” he wrote. “Splatt, I wish your fat ahh listened to me and stayed in the room. I told u we could smoke that blunt after security and the rest of our familia pull up… You always so hardheaded blood, but u kno ima ride wit u regardless we come together we leave together.”

He went on to reflect on their journey together, expressing regret that Sayso P had insisted on making the trip to Memphis.

Meanwhile, Sayso P’s mother, Toya Redwing, suggested her son may have been set up, pushing back against rumors circulating about his death.

“This is the type of lies and sh*t that keep mothers losing our sons,” she wrote on Facebook. “My son never stole anything. Never ran off with anything. Didn’t have to. Haters set him up but not because he stole a dime. He would give you his last before he stole anything. Please stop spreading rumors.”

She also lamented that her son’s loyalty to the wrong people may have led to his downfall.

“Too loyal to the wrong people was his biggest downfall,” she continued. “Haters who were envious killed my baby, but I won’t let y’all steal his legacy. People see him with a stack and say anything. That was his norm.”

As the investigation continues, authorities remain on the hunt for Dandridge, while Sauce Walka and Sayso P’s loved ones mourn the devastating loss.
